Volunteer or Intern
Volunteering–Give a Little. Gain a lot!
Volunteering at Connection of Friends is a means to provide each participant with natural social modeling and opportunities to engage. Volunteers motivate our participants to use their developing social skills and offer support as they build a network of friends. COF promotes independence in our participants and is not an organization that uses hand-over-hand techniques. Volunteers receive an orientation prior to volunteering which includes an overview of our supports that enable our participants to be successful during programming.
- Actively participate with the Program Director, Program Leader and Program Assistants in the implementation of programming activities.
- Encourage participation and socialization among participants.
- Assist with the organization and clean-up of activities.
We are in need of volunteers, ages 16 and older for the following times:
Saturday Night Socials—5:30-9:00 pm
Saturdays are all about socialization and having fun! Each Saturday is a different themed party where we spend our evenings engaging in dinner conversation, having fun in 3 different activity rotations led by volunteers and dancing!
Wednesday and Thursdays—3:00-6:00 pm
Hang out with us and participate in everything from yoga to art to gardening!
The successful implementation of our programming is dependent on our volunteers. We welcome students in need of service hours and college reference letters will be written upon request.
To volunteer, please download and return our Volunteer Application to Alexis Zola, Program Leader at email@example.com. or call (630) 260-0922 for more information.
